Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup hosts 'Rotary Fun Fiesta' - Entertainment meets Social Purpose

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup held its first-ever "Rotary Fun Fiesta" in Bhandup, Mumbai, from December 15th to 17th, 2023. This exciting event combined entertainment and family fun with raising awareness and funds for the club's various initiatives supporting underprivileged members of society.

The Fun Fiesta wasn't just about a good time; it was a platform for Rotary's dedication to giving back. The club has a long history of service, including:

• Cataract Free Bhandup: Over 350 free cataract surgeries for those in need.

• Paediatric Heart Surgeries: Providing crucial heart surgeries for young children.

• Tailoring Training with Job Guarantee: Empowering individuals with a practical skill and employment opportunities.

• Pink Auto Project: Training women and equipping them with autorickshaws, giving them a source of income and independence.

• Education Loans: Supporting students seeking higher education.

The Fun Fiesta offered a vibrant weekend experience for families, featuring musical evenings, a comedy night, and a captivating fashion show showcasing designs by Seema Kshirsagar.

Adding to the excitement, the Rotary Club, CrossAsyst Infotech Pvt Ltd, and event partner Ms. Rajool Sanjay Patil collaborated to create a magnificent 33-foot-tall cardboard Christmas tree on December 15th. This remarkable feat shattered the previous world record of 20 feet and earned entries in the World Wide Record, India Book of Records, and Asia Book of Records. This tree stands as a testament to the creativity and dedication of the organizers and participants.

President Rtn. Jennifer Isaac of the Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup emphasized the core purpose of the Fun Fiesta: supporting underprivileged communities. "While it was our first event, the incredible response and participation from Bhandupkars filled us with joy and motivates us to plan more such events in the future," she expressed.
