Actor Vaibhav Sharma, who was last seen in movie Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor and will be part of upcoming movie: I Am No Queen, says that he loved his role of Harry. He adds that people are sure to relate to the series well, especially those staying abroad. “There’s not a lot that I can share about the character as per the producer’s or director’s instructions but yes, Harry is the mastermind behind the whole story and he is the Player who knows the game better than anyone else. I am playing the negative lead in the movie and the thing that drew me towards this project was the story and potential of the movie because it was based on the ugly truth of survival,” he says.
He adds, “What attracted me to this project was the opportunity itself, that I get to play a character in a foreign country, not in my first language and that too on a true story. The hot topic of immigrant students and their struggle for survival especially girls is so true. I believe this movie will set a path to something extraordinary in my career.” Ask him how is it different to work in an international project versus Bollywood films, and he says, “This is my first International project, even though the director is from India (Shadab Khan). The biggest difference or challenge I felt was communication in a different language because you can have a great command over a foreign language but there are spaces of emotions that cannot be filled with merely a translation. One more difference which I saw was that everyone here in this project was treated equally irrespective of their position or job in the movie, which unfortunately we all know doesn’t happen in our Bollywood films. I believe that technicalities are little different based on the audience preferences.”
Talking about his challenge in this movie, he says, “The biggest challenge was to portray the complex cunning character of Harry was to master the foreign language (English) as it is not my first language. I hadn’t done anything in the past in English.”
